  About US

SNITEM is a professional organization governed by the French Act of 1884 providing for the creation of trade associations.

Set up in 1987, it draws together the greater part of the medical technologies and evicesindustry. It is the first employer's association in France to represent companies in this business sector and is the representative the authorities liaise with and refer to.

SNITEM is represented in a wide range of authorities and sits on decision-making and/or advisory committees:

• AFSSaPS' (French Health Products Safety Agency) Board of Directors,
• Medical Devices and Health Technologies Assessment Committee (HAC),
• National Commission for Materiovigilance (CNM),
• Publicity Monitoring Committee (OAM),
• Central Bureau for Medical Pricing (BCTM),
• Various Certification committees (G-Med Medical & Scientific committee, COFRAC
laboratory approval body, AFAQ certificate-issuing body for quality assurance systems,
etc.)

At European level, SNITEM represents the industry on various committees and in several associations: Eucomed¹, Cocir², Eurom³

SNITEM unites more than 200 companies. It particularly invites manufacturers to get involved in a wide range of work groups that have a direct link with their business sectors: sector-based commissions and work groups, decision-making groups, cross-disciplinary committees, etc.

Training and briefing sessions on subjects of interest to professionals in the sector such as the economic and regulatory environment or changes in the healthcare system are organized within SNITEM on a regular basis: they enable members to obtain practical information that can be used instantly.

SNITEM is carrying the Action plan Sectorial to Export (PASE Santé) presented and approved by the Committee of the Export of the Ministry delegated to the Foreign Trade.
